The Position
Ashnik is looking for a Kafka Engineer to be part of the technical team, based in Mumbai. You will be responsible for design, installation, configuration and support of Kafka clusters and eco system for streaming data pipeline.
Qualification and Experience
- 2 to 3 years of installation and configuration experience of Kafka Clusters
- At least 2 years of experience in any Streaming ETL Tools
- 4 years of hands on experience of working on the Linux operating system
- Should have completed at least 2 successful Kafka implementation projects
- Experience in Python
- Good knowledge of either RDBMS or NoSQL Database technologies
- Good to have Skills: KSQL Database, CDC Connectors & experience of deployment of any Cloud platform & automation
Essential Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of Kafka Schemas and use of the Schema Registry
- Strong fundamentals in Kafka client configuration and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Kafka clustering, and its fault-tolerance model supporting High Availability
- Best practices to optimize the Kafka ecosystem based on use-case and workload
- Demonstrated experience of Kafka concepts (Producers/ Consumers / Connectors/ kStream / KTable)
Responsibilities
- Carry out installation and configuration as per the design
- Coordinate with Solution Architects for performance improvement areas for design
- Coordinate with the Customer to get all pre-requisites in place for the set up
- Create and maintain documents for implementations and configurations
- Apply updates and patches to keep the software up-to-date and in line with organizational policies
- Monitor and identify areas of performance improvement
- Identify and write scripts for automating support tasks
- Be the point of contact for post implementation support
- Take part in solution architecture and designing workshops and provide inputs
- Carry out internal knowledge sharing sessions with other team members
